The Sharks got to flip the tables on the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night after suffering a bit of a spanking last Sunday in Southern California. This time the Ducks were the road team and they activated more of their prospects against a veteran Sharks lineup. The Ducks vets pasted San Jose 6-2 in their last meeting, but San Jose returned the favor by scoring 5 goals in the 1st period to cruise to a 10-0 win at SAP Center.

If these games are used to evaluate your roster, what did Anaheim's report look like. It was ugly from start to finish. The Sharks never let their foot off the gas and scored multiple goals in each period.

Newcomer Mason Marchment scored his 1st in teal 3:55 into the contest after finding himself on a bit of an island. He made the most of his isolation by putting a puck past Ville Husson for the 1-0 lead.

Ivar Stenberg scored his 1st goal in a teal sweater less than 2 minutes later on a put-bac chance from the left side after Michael Misa bounced a shot off Husso.

Igor Chernyshov scored the first of his 2 goals in the period at 9:29 with a shot from the left side. Filip Bystedt and Jimmy Huntington helped setup the opportunity by moving the puck to their Russian linemate.

Stenberg and Misa teamed up with 8:27 to play in the period to make it a 4-0 game. Stenberg found the puck on his stick as he skated in the slot with defenders on either flank. The young Swede drew those defenders toward him before sliding it to his right where Misa lifted it past Husso for his 2nd goal of the preseason.

Chernyshov made it a 5-0 game with 4:15 left in the period to give the Sharks the comfortable lead.

Things didn't get any better for the Ducks to open the middle period. Stenberg earned his 3rd point of the game with a goal at: 3:04 of the period. Misa carried the puck up the right side before setting up a quick wrist shot from the right side of the slot for Stenberg's 2nd goal of the game.

Laurent Brossoit was inserted in net at the midway point of the game. Husso's final like was 6 goals allowed on 19 shots in 30:06 of ice time.

Marchment made it a 7-0 game with his 2nd of the night 12:57 into the period. Will Smith fooled everyone in the building as he elected to dish the puck to Marchment rather than shooting himself. Smith had Brossoit dead to rights, but he moved the puck from the left side to Marchment who was on the off wing.

Brett Leason was credited with a power play goal at 7:54 of the 3rd period after he tipped an Eric Pohlkamp shot past Brossoit for his 1st of the preseason.

Filip Bystedt got in on the action with a shot from the left wing that beat Brossoit after Chernyshov set him up from the off wing.
