As Sharks fans, we should all be used to it by
now, as in the Sharks blowing leads. The Sharks had a 5-1 lead against
Nashville on Tuesday, so they should coast to an easy win, right? Well, no, the
Sharks lost, 7-5. Great entertainment for the Predators fans, but not the
Sharks fans.
The Sharks blew a lead against the Bruins the day before,
losing 6-3. And at this juncture, the Sharks have the fewest amount of wins in
the league, just 14. On the bright side, we're headed for another early pick in
the NHL draft. But the playoffs are pretty much unachievable for the Sharks at
this point.
For me, it's getting to the point where I find it hard to
even watch the games anymore, with all the losing, losing, losing. The team
just doesn't seem that bad, the but the losses pile up. One concern I have is
how long will top young players like Macklin Celebrini, Will Smith, and
Yaroslav Askarov put up with all this losing, losing, losing? Will it reach a
point where they ask out of San Jose? I hope not.
FWIW, I like to
track Celebrini, who is such a great player at 18 years old. My two biggest
questions about the games are, did the Sharks win or lose, and did Celebrini
have any points? He had two Tuesday night in Nashville, but it didn't seem to
do much good, except make the final score a little closer.
Another thing that's frustrating is how much time
the Sharks spend in their own end and how little puck possession they have. Can
we get some more offensive chances and keep our goalies from being overworked?
The other team's goalie should probably have a magazine to read, since he faces
fewer shots.
Please, Sharks organization, snap out of this. After all
the losses at the beginning of the season, it seemed like the Sharks had
righted the ship, only to resume with losing, losing, losing again. Take all
the losing and all the empty seats at Sharks games, and San Jose is starting to
look like the Siberia of NHL Hockey. Start winning, Sharks. We've all had
enough of the losing.
