LGS NHL Power Rankings
for the Week Ending 12/12
12/13/2021 - By LGS Staff
The staff writers at LetsGoSharks.com submit their league rankings each week, and we average submissions for each team. Here are the LGS NHL Power Rankings for this week:

Rank Rank Last Week Team Record Last 10 The Skinny
1 1 18-5-4 6-3-1 The Panthers hold the top spot after winning 5 in a row. A late loss in Colorado on Sunday not enough to wrestle the king from the summit.
2 6 19-7-1 5-5-0 The Hurricanes win all three games and jump back into the 2 spot in the Rankings.
3 2 19-8-1 8-2-0 Minnesota becoming a fun team to watch? The timeline of this universe did shift.
4 5 18-6-3 8-2-0 Maybe we'd better believe.
5 3 17-5-6 6-3-1 When a top 5 team loses to Buffalo, they fall.
6 4 19-8-2 7-2-1 Are the Leafs the best team to ever lace em up? Toronto media currently thinks so...
7 9 15-7-6 5-4-1 The Flames dropped all four games last week, then get a COVID related vacation this week.
8 8 17-6-4 7-2-1 Tampa starting to turn heads. They're ranked in the top 8 for a reason after their slow start.
9 10 15-8-5 5-2-3 The Blues are getting healthy, and starting to beat notable teams.
10 11 16-9-5 6-2-2 Coach Dallas Eakins must get a little satisfaction seeing his Ducks continue to move ahead of the Oilers in the standings
11 13 16-7-2 7-2-1 Avalanche scored more touchdowns than some NFL teams last week.
12 12 13-9-5 4-5-1 Gotta score to win games. Lesson hopefully learned.
13 7 16-10-0 4-6-0 The first real bump in the road for the Oilers. The Pacific is wide open so this puts all playoff spots into play!
14 14 16-11-0 6-4-0 So, who goes once Eichel is healthy??
15 18 17-10-1 7-3-0 Sneaky good, but who pays attention
16 19 14-8-5 7-2-1 Wins over Seattle, Washington and Anaheim help the Pens vault 3 spots up the rankings.
17 16 14-8-2 5-3-2 The Bruins are performing like a mid-pack team.
18 20 15-12-1 6-4-0 Not bad, not good, but showing they can win a few when they play a certain way.
19 22 10-11-5 2-6-2 Wins over Philly and Nashville help the jump.
20 23 12-10-4 4-4-2 The Kings win 3 of 4 but still fall a spot. They need to prove themselves before they'll climb.
21 17 13-10-2 7-3-0 Dallas loses 3 of 4 and crashed 6 spots.
22 21 14-11-1 4-5-1 Blue Jackets beat those they should and lose to those they should.
23 24 10-12-4 2-7-1 Promoting Mike Yeo didn't help. Wow, surprise.
24 15 13-12-3 5-4-1 Lose 4 straight and drop 6 spots.
25 26 9-15-3 5-3-2 Three straight losses but the Kraken still climb a spot.
26 30 12-15-2 6-4-0 New coach Bruce Boudreau will make it a happy team, maybe they can play to their ability.
27 27 10-15-2 5-5-0 Fleury has the fans getting hopeful, wait until they flip him at the trade deadline
28 28 7-11-5 2-5-3 First win in the new barn. They better rattle off 10 or 15 in a row if they want to get back into the race.
29 30 8-16-1 4-6-0 Wins over Jersey and Tampa Bay a nice jolt, but losses to the Islanders can't be overlooked.
30 29 6-20-3 2-7-1 Rumours of Patrick Roy returning to the Habs are gripping Quebec. Maybe he could break the curse of 1995.
31 25 8-15-4 1-7-2 After spotting the Coyotes a healthy lead, Buffalo is back in the "Race for Wright"! Sabres fans also get another clipping for their NHL Refs Screwed Us scrapbook
32 32 5-20-2 3-7-0 How do you make a terrible hockey team worse? Get a lien against your club for failing to pay taxes. These dogs seem like their on their last legs. It's one thing not to believe in analytics, but can't the NHL run a credit check on people who buy teams?
